- I am the mother of a beautiful little girl who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was only 9 months old. My husband is also type 1 and pumping. I have an amazing son who is 10 years-old and the picture of health, for which I am beyond grateful! Emma has had numerous health struggles for the past few years, so I've spent an enormous amount of time reading, researching and seeking answers. I am forever amazed by the complexity of auto-immune diseases, and the lack of decent treatment options. I am dedicated to helping her live a full, happy life, no matter what it takes.
